>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: All of these podcast episodes are so
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: special, and this one is especially close to my heart. And you’ll know why when you listen. I finally had the opportunity to talk to my mentor in business, Tay Daniels.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Tay, I’m so excited that we could gather today and record this call because you’ve taught me so much about business and honestly, I should have hired you like, six years ago. And the listeners are going to be. I know that they’re going to be so nourished and so, like, like, fulfilled by what you have to share today. So thank you again for being here.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Thank you for having me. It’s all. It’s also been such an honor to watch you grow and do the work that you do. I think about this all the time. Like, you are such inspiration, and influence to our cultures and our communities. So thank you for having me and also thanks for being in my space at the same time. Like, it is such, you know, a. A back and forth relationship that we share. But I’m very honored to be here today.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Mm. And I wanna let listeners know how we met because I, I think it was. It’s so funny how these things happen. Right? Like, this woman who had, who was already part of your community, she kind of our. She came into my orbit.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Hired me and then told me about you. And, like, I was like, okay, I’ll check her out. And she’s like, you have to be. You have to work with Tay. And I was like, okay. And I was not looking for a business, business, nothing. And I looked and I saw maybe like three posts. And I was like, I’m applying. I’m done. Right. Because you spoke specifically to the Cycle Breakers. You, really spoke to, like, legacy, the legacy of the business. And you talked about, you know, I, I didn’t understand 100 of what you were talking about, but based on vibes alone, right? I just, like, operate on vibes. But you said something about, like, legacy, and you talked about, like, being in a room together and about collaboration. And then that was already like, okay, you are talking about Doing business differently. And I want to be in that room, you know, so that’s what motivated me to apply. And that’s, you know, the rest of the story. Like we’ll, we’ll tell it. But, but yeah. So I would love for you to share your journey in business and what brought you to that like, understanding of like, yes, we like collaboration and m. Yeah, like launching together and, and those kinds of things. That is not that common in the business world.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah, absolutely. So, long story short, I actually started my first business in 2016. I was seven months pregnant. I had a hundred dollars to my name, wrecked credit, no degree. But I was like, I’m going to start a business. And so I became a virtual assistant. And for the next five years, through an abusive relationship, through divorce, through being a single mother, I grew a virtual assistant OBM agency. And I was always the back end support to other people’s businesses. And I helped people really grow their businesses by doing the backend things. And through those years, I was asked to be a consultant. And when I stepped into coaching and consulting people, I was like, wow, I really love this, like as a mother, as a woman, and the freedom and the flexibility and the financial opportunities that it’s brought to me. Like, I really want to give this to other women. And so through those years, because now I’ve been in business for 10 years, through those years of business, sometimes it would be really lonely. And I’ve just always been a person that, I don’t follow the rules, I don’t like to follow the rules. I don’t like to do what everyone else does. And so people were teaching me business and I was seeing the way people were doing business and I was like, I don’t really like that. I don’t, I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to do what everyone else is doing. I don’t want to do this like pyramid scheme way of doing business. So I’m just not going to. And at the exact same time, my entire virtual assistant OBM business was built all on referrals. The whole time. It was built on referrals because I cared about clients, I cared about the experience and doing a good job. And that worked. And so I was taught from a young age that people will always remember how you treat them and that if you want to be successful in life, it’s built through relationships. And so when I moved into my coaching career, I took that with me and I was like, this is what’s worked for Me. Relationships have worked for me. Giving people an experience and genuinely caring about the work we do together, the success they have. Caring about someone’s life and what. What they have going on behind the scenes is how a business is built. It just is. And so when I put that into my work, people want to naturally tell other people, like, you should be here, just like Carmen did, you know.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: And she just naturally said, you know, you should be in this room. And she had told me the same thing about you. You know, you should go check her out. And I also, you know, bought your course. And so I just think that, genuinely, that’s the way to do business, but also to find people and women who share the same values, the same mission, the same vision, the same drive as you is like no other experience. I can’t even describe what it feels like, especially if you’ve grown up as a cycle breaker. It’s so lonely.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Totally.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yes. You feel so outside of your friends or your family or your community, like, no one really gets you. Like, they. They accept you, but they don’t get you. They don’t see you. But in this world, in this space, we see each other in ways that, like, you just cannot describe. And so that has always been the thing is, like, finding my tribe, finding those people and really pouring into them. And then they create success, but then they go tell other people. And honestly, it’s been my favorite way to build a business. And I will tell you, relationships will get you so much further in the long term, because then you build trust. Right. You have reciprocity, you build love for each other. And then long term, what happens is, as you’re building, you know, there gets to be a point where you’re like, I really need something from people. Whether it’s love, whether it’s support, whether it’s to be seen, whether it’s an introduction, and people are so glad to give it because it’s always this circle of we’re just naturally doing this for one another. And. Yeah, you just. You won’t convince me to do it any other way.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: And.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: And it’s like I. You know, coming into your space was such a breath of fresh air because of the way that we know. When I started, When I started the licensing and leadership, you were very clear on what the principles were. You really set the tone for the culture of the group, very much rooted in indigenous principles. and, yeah, you made it very clear what we were all doing together. And then can you describe, like, what your idea is around launching and around, like, the house as well. Because I feel like that is, again, like, something that I don’t see very often.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Absolutely. So as I was getting further along in my journey and I. I was in business. It was in 2025, I did my first JV partnership with another woman. She was a business owner, I was a business owner. We came together to do a joint venture. We created a program together, we launched together, we sold together, we taught together. And it was a lot of fun. Like, it was probably the most fun I had ever had is like, sharing all the scaries, sharing all the ideas, sharing all the fun. And I was like, every single. Like, every single woman needs to experience this. It’s so fun to do it with people who, you know, are. Maybe have a different skill set, but you can come together. And so that really prompted this idea of through building Breadwinner Energy, my company, my trademark. I have had so many legal battles. I’ve had so many things that I’ve dealt with, and it can be lonely and scary and exhausting. and I said, you know what? There’s so many women in the world who probably want to build things with other people. Maybe they, you know, they want to be legally protected, but they don’t want to have to own a trademark because it is hard and it’s exhausting. And so why don’t I, right, license my trademark to them, help them build. And also together, we can launch together, promote each other, hire each other, work together, all in this shared space where we pour into one another to help each other grow. Because we all share the same mission. We all share the same vision. We all have the same values, right? And we all want to grow, but you’re going to grow a lot faster, and it’s going to feel a lot better when you’re together. So I built the house to put the women together so that we could grow together, launch together, cry together, laugh together, cheer together. And it has been. I think I cry, like, every time we’re together because I’m just in awe of the amount of growth that you guys have. but, yeah, so that was. That’s the inspiration behind the house. But then to be able to plan launches together. And, now you have your. Right, your business, and you’re in business with another person. And I just think having such support, when you’re going through something new or hard or scary or even the next level, it almost feels like you can do anything. Because no matter what the Internet says or your family says or anyone else, you know, has to say you have each other. Like, you have your coven of, your women. Yeah. You have your tribe.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Hey, real quick, before we get back to the episode, you keep saying you want an indigenous matriarchy now, and I believe you. And it’s going to require a relationship with money that’s completely outside of the tradfi model and a body that’s mapped to ecological systems. So I made something for that. Flow is a matriarchal money master class followed by five emails over five days. And each providing you an internal shift and a concrete action step to match walks you through the somatic and ancestral patterns running the show and the structures that let money move through community. Instead of stagnating in scarcity, by the end of the week, you’ll be moving money like a matriarch. So find a link in the show notes, sign up, and flow will come straight to your inbox. Okay, let’s get back to it.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: To really hold you in that space.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah. That community is. Is really incredible. And I think that for me, what has made it also, like, again, different from the many coaching containers, business coaching containers I’ve been part of is, like, people who come into your space have success like they are. The evidence is right there. And this is, like, this is what continues to blow my mind. Like, people are exploding on social media. people are making the money like it’s happening. And you’re just like, wow, this actually works. Because for a long time, I didn’t have the evidence and I continued to work without the evidence. And now the evidence is here. And, like, people in the space are like, they’re having results. And so that’s also really inspiring. I’m, like, banking that evidence every day. Right. and you know, what I said at the beginning is true. Like, I really should have hired you six or seven years ago when I started my business. Because the way that you teach, how to set up your offers is like, oh, my God, why didn’t I think of this before? Like, it is. It is simple, it is streamlined, it is the clients. It helps the client journey. All of it. So I would love for you to explain it, because it is like, oh, my God, really? Like, such a gift. The gift of simplicity. Right. When I was just like, oh, maybe I’ll launch this or maybe I’ll launch that. Oh, that’s a good idea. No, you’re like, no, no. Happens to everybody.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Honestly. Yeah, yeah. first, I just want to say, like, thank you. You know, thank you for saying that. But the thing is, is I’m Just going to keep going back to, you know, and stand on that. I just do things so much differently than everyone else.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yes.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: And I. That’s just the way it is. Like, you cannot convince me to do something because everyone else does it. I’m just not that type. Like, I’m like, nope, I will go against the grain. but yeah, building. Here’s the thing is I. I’ve spent 10 years in this industry. I’ve been, you know, a service provider, a coach. I’ve had all these roles. I built multiple businesses. And the thing I can say is there is a split. There is a split in the industry. There are people who are really good at marketing and creating things and making money, and there’s people who are really good at service and impact and relationships, and those are typically not the same. Okay. And so I care way more about the impact, about the experience, about the person that I’m in front of and the relationships we’re building and the impact we’re building. And yes, marketing matters. Yes, the tactical things of business do matter. But the problem with the industry I’m seeing is we’re getting a lot of people who market really well but don’t deliver really well. And then, for me, I was like, you know what? No, it’s build an experience and a way to change lives. Build upon honesty, build upon the truth, build upon your lived experience and care way more about that and allow the marketing just to come through you as who you are and, and what you’re here to do and your raw, honest opinions. And that will get you so much further. It might take a little bit longer because it’s not popular. Right. But it is sustainable. and so I created this thing, it’s called All Paths Lead to Rome. And everything you do is centered on whatever it is you’re known for. Right? So the one thing that you’re known for, everything else feeds that and builds into that. The content, the offers, the collaborations, they’re all building you right back to Rome. And your roam is your one signature scalable offer where you can grow the business and make bigger impact and more money, but also change lives all at the same time. Through this one result that you can get people and everything else you do is built around it. That way you don’t every day, you’re not reinventing the wheel, you’re not reinventing a million offers. And what am I going to say today? And taking on all these collaborations and all these opportunities and everything that comes your way. It’s a system that, Everything feeds everything. And then eventually you have an ecosystem that just drives and builds each other. You put content into the machine, whatever that looks like for you, and it grows your impact around being known for just one thing and everyone. It’s like, it is so simple that it’s mind blowing. Like just one thing. And I’m like, yes, it works. It works every time.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: it really does. And I resisted it for so long and I was like, but I’m so multidimensional, how can I, you know? But, but now that I found my roam, right. It, it is so simple and I actually don’t feel restrained or con. Constrained in any way. I’m just like now I feel like I can really be as free as I want about that thing every day. Like just like keep hammering.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah, yep, exactly. And that for multi dimensional people. Yeah, that’s what it is. It’s. You can be multidimensional, you can have other bubbles that feed Rome, but we have to have a driving foundational center point where everything comes back to it. That is like the most important thing M. It allows you to grow.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yes.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: And people know what you’re known for.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yes. Amazing. Amazing. And can you talk just a little bit about how to scale the offers? Because you have a, like a kind of specific framework there as well.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah. So scaling is a wide used term and I think that people get confused like what is scaling and what, what isn’t and you know, building versus growing versus scaling. And I will tell you, after many times of building and burning and building and bur and finding the thing, I now have something I teach which is like build it right the first time, scale it forever. Because every time you kind of burn it down to rebuild it, you’re always in this cycle of building and building and building. You don’t really get to live your life. You don’t get to experience the freedom and the impact you can make if you stick down into one thing. And so that’s what we do a lot is I have a process that I teach of building. Right. Building it once correctly, building for. But then after you’ve built for roam, now we go into scaling. But scaling can look different for everyone. Right. My favorite, of course I’m going to go back to way to scale is leveraging partnerships, relationships. right, that. But then also even like you like your content just like took off through social media because you’re really grounding out, grounding into your realm and your message and what you’re here to do, which also allows impact and freedom.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Freedom.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Freedom.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Freedom. Like I’m always going to come back to. Does it allow you to live the life that you want to live?
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yes, yes, exactly. Exactly. Yeah. And you know, when you talk about freedom, right. It is about freedom means different things for different people. And I know that there have been times in my life where, you know, time freedom is, you know, an energy freedom is usually sort of like we want money so that we have time freedom. Right. This is just sort of the systems that we live in. Fine. Right. and we can talk about impact and all these other things, but you and I are connected, in, in sort of a challenging way because we’ve both lost, the father of our children and you lost the father of your, the father of your children to suicide recently. A couple months ago. So. And this happened while I was in your container and I, you know, I didn’t know what to expect when that happened. And for me, it impacted me so much that I had a hard time showing up for, you know, I was, I was coaching at the time and I saw you be in that experience in a, in a way that it just taught me so much about building a business that doesn’t need you to be at the center of it. And still you showed up, but you had built an ecosystem that continued to flow even as you are still grieving. And so if you could talk about that, that would be really impactful for listeners.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah, you know, it’s. It’s so funny not in a. Haha. Funny in a. what the. Funny that life just Life doesn’t care. And I will always say this life will always life in some way, whether it’s grief, having children, whatever the case may be. But it’s so funny when you start to crack this door open and share, hey, I’m a real human going through real life. Things that there’s always someone, at least one person in your tribe that has experienced it, has gone through it or is going through it. And you build these relationships with people through. And connect through stories. How I’ve always lived was like connecting through stories. Right. Tradition. And yeah. So I am so incredibly grateful and lucky to have built a business that did get to grow. It still grows. Right. Even when I’m in the thick of grief or not really knowing up and down and left from right, right. Right after that happened, but then also being like, wow, we share. Right. You understand what that’s like? And so now I don’t feel alone. And then you are like, wow, someone else is going through this and how.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Right. It was just so insane to just. It’s. It was so synergistic in like the most fucked up way, you know? Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: And we built connection through like being able to lean on each other in a sense in this way. And Yeah, but I. That’s always been. The mission is like, can you build a brand outside of you, a mission outside of you, an impact outside of you that doesn’t always require you because you don’t know what, what can happen in your life, whether it’s being saved, whether it’s grief, babies traveling, like it’s impossible to know what life can bring. But if everything leans solely on you, everything, it can easily crumble. And so it has to be a twofold. It has to be. Do you have the ecosystem and the structure to hold you and your business and your mission long term? And do you have your people and do you have your tribe to lean on and those relationships to lean on? And so if you build a business in a way, a capitalistic way, even though that’s, you know, the system we’re in, if you build in that way, there’s no saying if you’re going to have the support, whether that’s a structural support or, you know, your people support, because that’s not what’s popular. That’s not the way that we’re born into. And I just think it’s so backwards. And if we want to actually create, right, we actually want to go back to matriarchal systems, we have to. We have to embody those. We have to live by those. We have to lean on each other, support each other, love each other, porn to each other. And thank God I had that because I don’t know how I could have gotten through these last five months without my group. Right? Without my. Yeah, like you guys have. Yeah. I, Like, I’m just so, so grateful to have you guys because this shit is hard. So hard.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: It really is. And yeah, it. Again, in this, in this way, it just provided. That was the moment that we really dropped in as a community and we sort of like got really close and it fed all of us, right? Like we were able to connect and we all received something and gave something and it was really like a beautiful example of the principles that you outlined at the very beginning, you know, and, it just taught me a lot because, you know, I, When I went through that myself, like I was holding my business like this, like I was shaking, like I was holding it on my shoulders, but I, I had not built the business that you built. And I, again, like, it just taught me so much about the mistakes that I made or that what I didn’t set up, you know, and yeah, it was a big, A big learning experience for me. And it kind of, it bought me into your model, like, again, you know, like, it just. Everything about it, you know, I, would love for you to share, you know, because we talk a lot about money and wealth as well, and you, you are very well versed in shadow work. I would love for you to talk about sort of like your. Your upbringing and your journey, like, through. Like, you hold a lot of wealth and you manage it. And like, what has been your journey with money? Your relationship with money?
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: That’s a great question. Been really imperfect, I will tell you that. Lots of learning and lots of mistakes.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: okay.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah, I grew up in poverty. I grew up with a single mom. We lived in a trailer. We were poor. And, I didn’t learn about money or wealth as a child, like, whatsoever. I just knew that, like, people have it and that’s the status, and if you don’t have it, then you don’t have the status. and so when I first built my business, I was 23 years old. Like I said, I was seven months pregnant, 100 to my name, wrecked.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Credit raising.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Ah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: You know, it’s interesting because when you’re so young and so delusional, like, you have no fear. You know, it’s like, no fear. You just jump off whatever. You don’t fear the consequences. So quitting my job at that moment, it was like that. Like a child with no fear. Thank God. Because now, obviously, at 33 and way more life experience, I. I fear that jump a lot more than I used to.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: But I took this jump to start a business and I was like, I can do anything. Like, I can do anything. Right? And, I worked my way up to creating enough money to basically survive and to leave an abusive marriage, which kicked off what breadwinner energy is today, which is to have your own money and resources as a woman, no matter what, no matter if it’s a partner, a job, the system. When you have your own wealth, you have freedom. Freedom.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: You’re uncontrollable.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yes, that. Yes. You cannot be controlled. You get to choose the health care, the life, etc. You know, it’s not. It’s not about. This is. The thing is, I fell into the. The. What’s it called when you. You make a lot of money really quick and you were really poor and you’re like, I’m gonna buy a designer bag. I made those mistakes, too. I made lots of those mistakes. And I. And then I finally my frontal lobe developed, and I was like, wait a minute. This is not what we do with our money. This is not it. And, through the journey of learning money and spending it and investing it, I now, at 33am Capable of retirement through investments. And like, God, I just even saying that out loud, wow. Yeah. Yeah. I’m so grateful. But I’m also just so it’s to go from survival into this. And now when I coach and when I come to work, I come from a place of I, can’t wait to change people’s lives today and not I have to make a dollar to live today. To approach service and impact from a pure place of, like, I’m about to change people’s lives and gift people things that I wish I knew. It is like, it just brings me such joy in my heart. Like, I don’t have to worry about surviving. I don’t have to worry about food on the table for my kids that’s taken care of. I get to just be in service to people. But it wasn’t always that way. Like, a lot of my business journey was survival. It was like, I have to make money because I have to put it food on the table. And that’s a really hard place to be because it does take you out of service a lot of time because you’re literally like, you’re surviving. And so I had to learn. I had to find relationships with people to teach me, read books on what actual wealth is. And it’s not material things. Even though, my Taurus Libra loves some material things. It’s the structure of the long term, but it’s also too, like, what money can do as far as freedom and choices and impact. And then also too, it’s like, how do we give back? Or how do we use that money to make appropriate change? So for me, it’s if I can use my money, my knowledge, my resources, and what I know to give it to other women to build these things, right? What happens? We start circulating wealth and success and resources within us that starts to build outward again. A group of uncontrollable wealthy women. Oh, my God. Damn the patriarchy’s worst nightmare. And I’m like, we’re building this. We’re doing this. No one can stop us, right?
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: So that’s been my journey with money. But it’s been a long journey of learning for sure.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: and I mean, listen, I am in my early 50s. You are 20 years younger than me and you are already in this place. Like, I feel like you as a cycle breaker have, like, I know that you’ve had, you’ve spoken about having like a very intense, like many intense lessons in your life and that’s been like compressed in a short period of time. And you’ve also had that much, like an equal amount of success also in a short period of time. Yeah, yeah. So it’s like a lot of living, a lot of living in 33 years.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Really? I. Yeah. Like, people are like, what do you do for like hobbies? I’m like, I stay at home and do crosswords. Like a 90 year old. Because I’m exhausted.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Exactly.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Like, I’m cycle breaking over here. Like, leave me alone.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yes. I’m learning a lot of rapid lessons.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: And I mean, it’s like you have built a life, like you have built a business so that you can rest and so that you can like actually do the inner work.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Right.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Like, you are well versed in shadow work because you’ve, you have the space, the spaciousness to be able to like, be processing as it’s happening.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah. And my, A lot of my life has been, like you said, it has been traumatic. I, I have had a lot of trauma in a very condensed amount of time, more than usual. I also lost my father to suicide as a child.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Oh, wow.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: so it’s been a lot of just death and rebirth and grief and learning myself and feeling alone and, and being the cycle breaker like we talk about and.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: So, you know, shadow work for me was like a lived experience before I even knew what shadow work was.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah, exactly.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah. And then the more I built a business and a public brand where your life is on display. So in a sense, while also you have this heavy mission, this heavy purpose and these big lessons, it was almost like it was all kind of like happening. And then once I realized and learned like, oh, this is what shadow work is through my healing journey, through my spiritual journey, through reconnecting with my indigenous roots and really going back to like, what, what am I here to do? Ancestral, there is, there is an ancestral, you know, living through me. What is it that I’m here to do? But you do have to go through the shadow work, especially if you are indigenous, if you are brown, if you are black. The truth is that what our ancestors lived through it. It’s almost like that’s within you right on top of now what we’re we are going through in our time, which is almost like a mirror, right? In a different way of that. and you are breaking that while also stepping outside of maybe even your bloodline to do something different. While also you have this big purpose on your shoulders. And it’s like, if you’re not willing to do that inner work, right? I think it can swallow you whole, to be honest. I think it can. Because life is hard.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: The.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: The life that we’re in, right. Is so hard. But also too. Again, you. I’m gonna always go back to, like, your ancestral purpose is within you, and everything in the world is going to push back against that to kind of be like, keep you from it or break you wide open for it. And I think, you’re here and you’re listening. You’ve probably been broken wide open, and you’re like, what the.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Right.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Right.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: And what. When you were talking, what it made me think about is like, building capacity, like, for me and my body when I’m processing trauma and like, and expressing emotions, whether that’s through tears or whatever, right? That builds capacity, right? For you to be able to hold the largess of the mission, hold the wealth, hold all of life, right? All of what life has to offer. That can be abundance, right? Because, you know, I, talk about, like, tragedy is also its form of abundance, right? There’s just. It’s big. It’s. It’s largess, right? Whether we, you know, give it a label of good or bad. But, M. Yeah. So it’s like the capacity to hold the mission, the. The work, right? So it’s all about, like, that, for me, is Power 100.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Because even the work you’re doing, like, the work you’re doing is life changing. Like, you are such an influence. Like, I cannot. If they’re like, I. Yeah. Influencer culture is just dying. But this is influence. Like, what you’re doing publicly is influence. And it’s.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: So.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: It’s just the coolest thing to watch. Like, you’re just such an inspiration to watch you do that. But that’s the thing is to be able to be in a place to do that, to give, to create this, to uphold, the roots, to be able to really just again, hold this bigger mission, right? You have to be in a place that service is not to get. It is truly, genuinely to give and to change lives. And you’re doing that. You’ve been doing that. And. But it does require us to go through, right, and understand ourselves and what are we here to do and I think that until you do, sometimes you don’t get the opportunity to do these bigger things. Or if you do, you can’t hold them. Right.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Exactly. Exactly. Yeah, that’s exactly right. Yeah, yeah. Wow. And you, I would love for you to talk about sort of like, how, how you bring people into your ecosystem. Like what, what is it, what is it that you offer people? What are your offers so that people know sort of like how they can come into your ecosystem.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah, well, I’m on social media. I have my personal brand, it’s Tay Daniels Underscore llc. But then Breadwinner Energy, social media, podcast and the website. But what I do is I help women become the breadwinner of their bloodline. And being a breadwinner is not just making more money. It’s not just making money. It’s not just making more money than a partner. It is genuinely and truly who you are, how you carry yourself, the life that you’re living, the energy of being a woman with freedom and a woman with choice. And so in my world, I have the podcast and I have many, courses and offerings for you to learn your inside self, your inner work, the shadow work of, your purpose, your bigger mission, as well as your ancestral roots, where you came from and what you’re here to do. But then after that, I have the Academy and the house. And the Academy is where I literally help you build a business with all paths lead to Rome. A business that you’re known for just this one thing, your entire ecosystem, your long term, sustainable, wealth making business. And then the house is where we come together. We resource each other, grow together, collaborate and scale together. It’s a private community. Once you’ve finished, the academy, but all of my work is centered around how do I help you crack open your purpose, what you’re here to do, embody your breadwinner energy and build a sustainable, long lasting resource of income and wealth.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Amazing. Amazing. And I’d love to hear from you, like, what is it that when you talk about impact, what does that mean to you? There’s dimensions of it probably, but what does it mean to you?
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah, this is a great question. This literally makes me like want to tear up even answering it. But I, have women who’ve worked with me over the last 10 years who come to me and DM me and say, hey, because of you, I left my abusive or alcoholic partner and now I’m like living my dream life. And
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: so sorry, no apologies.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah, I have women that are like, I Left my nine to five because of you. I can afford healthcare because of you. because of this work with breadwinner energy. Like, I’m a totally different person. It’s allowed me to speak on stages. It’s allowed me to have a business that I never thought I could have. It’s allowed me to travel and have freedom and experiences. It’s allowed me to show my daughters what it’s like to be a successful woman, a working woman. It has allowed me opportunities and experiences I would have never had based on where I came from. That’s literally why I do what I do. So sorry.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: No, no. Apologies for tears.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: I know. It’s like this is literally what everything I do is built upon is this like, it’s so important to my heart for women to have, ah, a life they didn’t think was possible for them.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Oh my gosh, Tay, I’m so, so grateful you exist. And yeah, I’m just, I’m just soaking it in right now because. I, I, there’s something about your energy and the way that you distill the knowledge in such a way that is like, there’s no obfuscation, there’s no question. It’s so clear. And, and again, a little bit like, duh. And yet the way that you teach it is so unique. And again, I’m just so grateful that we were able to find this time to come together and for you to share your story and your mission and the impact that you, that you offer so many women. So thank you, thank you for being here.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Thank you, thank you for having me. I will say this to every woman, and you especially, is, thank you for allowing me the time in the space. But I am, am so proud of you. Like, I am so incredibly proud of the work that you do and the community that you built and just how much life you have brought to indigenous culture, to women, to wealth. I’m like, I’m just, I’m in awe of you all the time, but I’m
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: very proud, you know, and, and I don’t want to just like throw back the compliment. And I’m receiving, I’m truly receiving, I think, or I know the thing that sold me was, you know, for a long time, the, the, the decolonization work and all that, that was like part of what I was doing. It was always in the background. And when I saw your content and you were very front facing with it, it just gave me such permission to come into it as well. Because, like, as a person who looks white Right. can pass as white. I was like, do I really, Can I really do this? Like, do I have permission to do it? And you were just like, yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: And I was like, of course you do.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: And that’s like that just kind of. I think that that has inspired so much of what I’m doing now is giving myself permission to talk about the things that have always mattered, but that I didn’t think would fit into the regular business world. Right. And I think that a lot of us do that. We, we say, well, this is not where the culture is. So I’ll just bring the parts that the 80% or the 75% of me that I think is palatable. And I’ll leave this 25% over here. I’ll still hold it and it’ll come out in my coaching containers or wherever it comes out, but I won’t be front facing it. It won’t be sort of the, the, the I won’t, you know, speak into whatever the foghorn or the, the loudspeaker, you know. So I feel like that is another piece that you are very much about is coming forward with those parts of yourself and that authenticity. Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yes. 100. I think that, we now live in a world where of course, we have lots of people that are mixed. I’m mixed, my children are mixed. And I think that we’re doing ourselves and each other and our communities and our lineage a disservice by holding back and not standing up for or participating in what’s normal. Or participating. Yes. Accepted.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yes. And I didn’t realize I was doing that until.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah, right.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: I was like, oh, that was my shadow work right there.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: I was like, it’s so common though, because.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yeah.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: right. You don’t want to be ostracized.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yes, exactly. Yes. Yes. Especially as someone who already feels ostracized, like as the quote, unquote black sheep. Right. This whole idea of being like the odd person out, you were like, I’m just going to wedge myself, you know, into belonging.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Yep.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: literally belonging to survive. That’s what we’ve known. So.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: Exactly.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: But I challeng everyone to really just break out of that and do it your way.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: All right. So I’m going to include all of the links that you know, to all of your offers in the show notes. And again, Tay, thank you so much. I am honored to be in your circle. I am grateful for you. I am. yeah, just our answers. Our ancestors co conspired for us to meet each other. So I’m grateful for them as well.
>> Isha Vela & Tay Daniels: They definitely did. Thank you for having me. Thank you so much for having me. And yeah, I’ve had a great time being here.
